The Loggerhead Turtle is named for its large head and weighs between 200 and 350 pounds. It is the most commonly seen sea turtle in Florida. Its diet consists primarily of mollusks and crustaceans. Each year there are 50,000-70,000 nests in the Southeastern United States, many of them in Florida.
